WATER LEAKAGE

From the bottom of the machine

This could be caused by an overflowing drip tray. Please clean out the drip tray and insert back into the machine.

Please note that it is entirely normal for excess water to flow into the drip tray during and after an extraction/steaming/cleaning process. It is meant to capture the excess liquid from the brewing process. We have made the drip tray easily removable so you can conveniently empty out the water into the sink and place it back in the machine.

If the water leakage problem persists, please contact us.

From the outer-side of the filter

This can happen when there are coffee grinds on the rim of the portafilter. Make sure there are no excess grinds on the portafilter rim before locking it into the machine. We also highly recommend you clean the brew head area with a damp cloth after each use, to avoid any grinds getting caught in that area. It is also possible that your silicone gasket in the brew head area may be worn out. If this is the case, please contact us.

SLIGHT TASTE OF ACIDITY IN THE ESPRESSO

There are a couple of reasons this could be happening:

The machine needs to cleaned

Please refer to our FAQ page for detailed instructions on how to clean your machine.

The coffee you are using may be past its use by date or has been improperly stored.

The best flavour always comes from freshly ground beans. If you are using pre-ground coffee, ensure to store it in an airtight container and placed in a cool and dry place in order to maintain the freshness of the coffee.

Your grinds may be too coarse and need finer grinds. Grind your beans a bit finer, but not too fine where the grinds feel powder-like when rubbed between your fingers.

THE MACHINE IS NOT WORKING

Ensure that the power cord is properly plugged into a wall socket. If the machine still isn’t working, please contact us and one of our friendly customer service representatives will be in touch very soon.

THE STEAMER WAND IS NOT PROPERLY FROTHING THE MILK OR NOT FROTHING AT ALL

There are a few reasons for this to be happening:

The green “READY” indicator light is not illuminated

The steamer will only be able to froth milk once the green “READY” indicator light comes on

The cup being used to froth milk may not be the ideal size

Use a high and narrow cup or the stainless steel milk frothing cup provided with your purchase

The steam wand may be clogged.

Remove the black steam wand cover and wipe down the stainless steel wand with a damp rag.

Use a toothpick to clear out any milk buildup that has accumulated in the wand. You should do this religiously.

To help loosen the buildup a good tip is to use submerge the wand into a boiling cup of water, and follow it up with the toothpick.

If the problem continues, please get in touch with us.

The coffee is taking a long time to brew and there is more steam than usual.

This is an indication that the machine needs to be descaled. If it is not descaled and kept clean it can lead to damage to the machine and adversely affect the quality of the espresso.

The coffee is not hot enough

Make sure that you have given the machine enough time to warm up. The green light will illuminate when the machine is ready for use. We also recommend using the cup warmer to warm the cup before pouring your espresso.
