    Cappuccino and Latte Macchiato

This process must be carried out twice for latte macchiato and cappuccino: once for the quantity of espresso and once for the quantity of milk:

    1. On the first operation, set the quantity of milk you want in the manner described in the previous section. Make sure that the milk nozzle is folded out and there is a cup below the milk nozzle.
    2. Start a second operation by pressing the appropriate button again. A beep will sound.
    3. Wait until the quantity of milk has passed through.
    4. As soon as the machine starts to make espresso, press the appropriate button again and hold it down. Another beep will sound.

  7. HOW TO CLEAN YOUR ESPRESSOWORKS 10-PIECE ESPRESSO MACHINE
    1. Light and Regular Cleaning
      1. Unplug your espresso machine from the power outlet and allow for it to completely cool off before cleaning.
      2. Clean the milk reservoir and the filters after every use.
      3. Rinse through the tube in the milk reservoir with clear hot water to remove milk residues after every use.
      4. Regularly run the cleaning program to clean the milk reservoir system as well as the brew head on the portafilter.
      5. Wipe down the housing with a damp cloth. If necessary, use a little mild detergent to remove more intense soiling.
      6. Thoroughly dry the machine and all accessories before assembling it again.
      7. Check the mains cable regularly for any damage.

      NOTE:

      • Do not use any toxic, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or scouring sponges to clean the machine. These can damage the surface.
      • Never immerse the machine in water.
      • Do not use the machine without a suitable container below the brew head and the milk nozzle.
      • The water tank and milk reservoir are not suitable for the dishwasher
    2. Cleaning the Milk Frother – Quick Clean after every use

The quick clean of the milk reservoir system should be carried out after every use so that no milk residues can remain in the system and dry on or go mouldy.

      1. Fill the milk reservoir with water (see the section in the Preparing Cappuccino and Macchiato chapter on page 8).
      2. Fold out the milk nozzle using the lever.
      3. Press the “On / Off” button to switch on the machine and preheat the water. The control panel flashes during the heating process.
      4. Place a suitable cup below the milk nozzle.
      5. As soon as the machine has heated up, the control panel stops flashing. Press the button. A beep will sound. The self-cleaning will start and the button will flash.
      6. Run the program and pour away the contents of the cup after the self-cleaning finishes.
      7. Repeat this process if necessary
    3. Cleaning The Filter Baskets

After using the machine, allow it to cool down. Unlock the portafilter from the machine and empty out the used grinds into the sink. Rinse the portafilter and filter basket under the sink and dry well. If your filter baskets seem clogged, we suggest using a tiny needle every so often to help pop out any grinds that may get caught in the filter basket holes.

      • Intensive Clean of Machine, Portafilter, and Milk Frother

      Part 1

      1. Fill the water tank with water
      2. Fill the milk reservoir with water
      3. Fold out the milk nozzle using the lever.
      4. Press and Hold the “CLEAN” button 4~5secs. The blue lights will illuminate and flash.
      5. The cleaning procedure will run for around 15 minutes.
      6. The “CLEAN” button will remain illuminated after this step is completed.

      Part 2

      1. Press the “CLEAN” button again (around 1sec.)
      2. The cleaning procedure will run for around 5 minutes.
      3. Once completed, the yellow indicator light will go away after 2 beeps
  8. DESCALING THE MACHINE

The first indications that descaling is required are a large amount of steam being produced and slower brewing of the espresso. The machine indicates at regular intervals that it needs to be descaled. When the yellow control lamp is lit, a descaling process should be performed. The control lamp goes out as soon as a cleaning or descaling process has been performed.

Limescale deposits have an adverse effect not only on the quality of the espresso and the water, but they also cause power losses and shorten the lifespan of the machine. The thicker a limescale layer is, the more difficult it is to remove.

We therefore recommend regularly removing limescale deposits with a descaling agent in accordance with the water quality in your area and how often the machine is used (approx. every 2 – 6 weeks).

    2. Insert your desired filter basket (Single for a single espresso, Double for a double espresso) into the portafilter
    3. Grind your beans and use the Measuring Scoop & Tamper to fill the portafilter basket with the correct measure of coffee. Tamp is it in firmly.

NOTE: Do not tamp it down too tight. This is will prevent proper water flow and as a result will negatively affect the taste

    4. Place the portafilter up into the espresso machine. Turn and lock it in place. Place a cup or two underneath.
    5. Turn the control dial to “ESPRESSO”. Once you have enough espresso in the cup, turn the dial back to the center position.
    6. Clean out the portafilter and go again!

    NOTE:

    • When making espresso, ensure that the grind is suitable for making espresso. You can purchase pre-ground coffee, or grind it yourself. The grind should be fine, but not too fine or powdery. If the grind is too fine (feels like powder when rubbed between the fingers) the water will not flow properly and the espresso will not be optimal.
    • You may notice that after brewing the coffee, the filter is wet. This is normal, and this is how we get that perfect crema.
    • We recommend preparing your milk before removing the filter from the machine. This will allow some time to evaporate some of the residual water in the coffee grinds.
  3. HOW TO FROTH MILK
    1. Fill the stainless steel milk frothing cup ⅓ of the way with fresh, cold milk
    2. Direct the steam wand away from the drip tray so that the steam wand is easy to insert into the frothing cup. Hold the frothing cup at an angle so that the top of the steam wand sits just below the surface of the milk.
    3. Turn the dial on the machine to “STEAM”
    4. When the foam is at your desired level, turn the control dial back to the center dot.
    5. Pour the steamed froth into your espresso.

      5. Press and hold the “ON/OFF” button for 3 seconds. Your machine should turn off and all the indicator lights should not be emitting any light. Wait as the descaling agent cleans your machine for 15 minutes.
